The District & Sessions Court Thatta holds a significant place in the judicial framework of Sindh, Pakistan. Thatta, being one of the oldest historical cities of the region, was once a major center of administration and culture. However, in terms of modern judicial administration, the establishment of the District Judiciary in Thatta evolved as part of the broader judicial reforms carried out under the supervision of the High Court of Sindh.

The Court of District & Sessions Judge Thatta was formally established to ensure the administration of justice at the district level in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan and the directives of the superior judiciary. Over time, the court has expanded its structure and jurisdiction to include various subordinate courts such as the Additional District & Sessions Courts, Senior Civil Courts, Family Courts, and Magistrate Courts.

Our Branches

An Administration Branch to deal with administrative works such as appointment of staff, order for their transfer and posting, taking disciplinary actions, entertaining complaints and correspondence with the courts and is headed by the District and Sessions Judge.

It has also a Judicial Branch to deal with the cases pertaining to the District and Sessions Court.

The Judicial District Thatta has its spacious and well-decorated Library in Judicial Complex which is fully equipped with the Law Books. The Library has the privilege of having a common computer in order to facilitate the Judges to search for the Laws and Rulings from the PLD Law Site which the district has obtained from its own budget.

It has an Accounts Branch for preparing salary bills of the officials and keeping their service books and utilizing the district budget.

The Nazarat Branch of the district deals with the deposit and discharge of the securities of the courts of whole district.

It has an Information Branch for guiding the common public, litigants and advocates and this branch performs as Surety Verification Cell as well to verify the genuineness of the documents tendered as sureties in the Courts of the whole district from the concerned departments. There are specious record rooms for keeping the disposed of cases in safe custody.

The Judicial District Thatta has its I.T Branch which is fully equipped and capable of dealing with the hardware, software, networking and data entry issues.
